Worth athletes produced a bumper set of results at the County Athletics Championships on Saturday.

4 Golds , 3 Silvers, 4 Bronze medals with another 3 just missing out on a medal in fourth place. This was an excellent result as the pupils competeed for the area team against all the top athletes in the county. In addition to many of our athletes made finals and produced personal best performances in a very competitive environment. Well done to all who were great ambassadors for the school.

Those intermediates or juniors who were placed first or second will be representing Sussex in the Inter Counties meeting next weekend and the gold medalists will also be in contention for a place in the team to go to the English Schools National Championships. Daniel Tewogbade jumped 1.78m which is the Natiional Standard for his age group which is likely to be needed for selection. Adaeze Onyejekwe was very close to the standard in her event and will hope to achieve this time at next weeks meeting.
